Although it might not feel like Fall just yet, we are well into October and that means the leaves are starting to change colors, Halloween is coming up, and pumpkin festivals are popping up everywhere. Fall in Montgomery County, PA is a ton of fun. It’s really a great time of year. There are always a lot of things to do in Montgomery County in the Fall and below are just a few of our favorite kids activities going on in MontCo this Fall.
Whitemarsh Fall Pumpkin Festival
Coming up this Saturday, October 15th from 10AM to 5PM is the Whitemarsh Fall Pumpkin Festival. Families are in for a full day of fun, food, and entertainment! A few of the fun activities going on at the Whitemarsh Fall Pumpking Festival are hayrides, pumpkin decorating contest, face painting, costume contest and parade, cupcake decorating, bingo, games, carnival rides and inflatables, food, craft purchases, a Homerun Derby, and a King of the Grill cook-off contest! All this for how much? You guessed it, Free! Tickets are needed for rides and games.
Cupcake Capers Fundraiser to Benefit Mommy’s Light Lives On
On Sunday, October 23rd from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Fellowship House of Conshohocken Kathy’s Just Desserts, Inc. and Kitchen Wizards are hosting a cupcake decorating contest and raffle in support of Mommy’s Light Lives On. Mommy’s Light Lives On is a foundation that brings joy and comfort to maternally grieving children and teens by helping them keep alive traditions or simple pleasures they shared with their mothers. Bring the kids out for a good cause. The cost is $25 per person with $15 per ticket donated to Mommy’s Light. To register please mail your check, payable to Kathy’s Just Desserts, Inc. to: Post Office Box 804, Blue Bell, PA 19422. Be sure to include NAMES of all attendees and contact information (email address AND phone number). Checks must be received by October 15, 2011!
1st Annual Simmons Elementary Fall in Fitness 5k run/walk or 1 mile Fun Run
On Sunday November 6th from 7:30am to 10am is the first annual Simmons Elementary Fall into Fitness is a 5k run/walk or 1 mile fun run open to experienced and novice runners/walkers. This event, sponsored by the Simmons Home and School Association, will raise funds for the school to enhance the educational experience, as well as to instill an appreciation of health and exercise in our children. The event is located at Simmons Elementary on 411 Babylon Road in Horsham, PA. The first 300 participants will receive race shirts. There will be food, beverages and entertainment for all participants. You can register online.
Kids Night Out at the Ambler YMCA
Jungle Sing Along at the Children’s Boutique
Swing on over to The Children’s Boutique for Music Monkey Jungle’s weekly interactive shows on Monday and Thursday mornings at 10:30am. The next sing along is scheduled for November 24th. Music Monkey Jungle Sing Alongs are a 100% interactive. Join Lori as she presents Music Monkey Jungle original songs, games and dances, as well as classic children’s standards. The cost is$8 per child. Be sure to ask about the Music Monkey Jungle Member card for discounted rates.
