A new and exciting facility has opened up in King of Prussia, one geared towards improving the mental and physical health of our young residents. Montco Happening is honored to introduce our readers to Main Line Parkour. MLPK is not a gym, nor is it a health club. In fact, its as far away from the conventional workout as one could could possibly get, which is what our local residents love the most about it! Main Line Parkour is an indoor facility where rhythmic movement, agility, balance, and creativity are used to navigate through various obstacles.
This particular type of movement know as “Parkour” was originally used on military obstacle courses. The art and objective of Parkour is to get from one point to another in a complex environment without assistance from equipment, and in the fastest way possible. Parkour includes running, climbing, swinging, vaulting, jumping, rolling, quadrupedal movement, and other movements that are dictated by the environment. Parkour’s development from military training gives it some aspects of a non-combative martial art.
Although Parkour is seen and practiced in mostly urban areas, it can be performed pretty much anywhere obstacles can be found. It involves seeing one’s environment in a new way, and imagining the potentialities for navigating it by movement around, across, through, over and under its features. Using all the senses, muscles and problem solving skills to arrive at the preferred destination. The activity promotes imagination, builds confidence, and helps individuals work and learn together as a unit. Their facility provides all sorts of activities separate from Parkour as well; Free Running, Slacking, Ninja Warrior Training, Vinyasa Yoga, Meditation, Capoeira, and so much more!!!
The addition of Main Line Parkour to the King of Prussia area has brought a refreshing and positive new alternative to exercise for our local residents. Each student here will grow physically as they continue to hone their skills, however, the growth they will receive mentally is what helps complete the entire package. You’ll find that the staff at Main Line Parkour are welcoming, supporting, and encouraging of their students needs, no matter what their individual skill level!

“Main Line Parkour’s youth fitness programs are designed to develop your children into physically strong kids but more importantly, into kids of good strong character”. MLPK’s goal is to provide safe, effective physical activity programs to help keep kids moving while having fun and becoming their best self in the process! Most kids want to be more active, but they lack the motivation and knowledge on how to do so. At MLPK, they know how to work with your children to tap into their creative sides, helping them become active, self-accomplished and successful.
