Happy Thursday Montgomery County! With an unbearable heat wave upon us, we hope that as you are reading this you are either sitting in air conditioning or out by the pool with a cold drink. Remember to stay hydrated, experts recommend adults drink eight 8-ounce cups a day. Also, wear sunscreen when going out in the direct sunlight. According to Sun Safety Alliance, your skin can burn in less than 10 minutes with the conditions forecasted for Montgomery County this weekend.
Skippack Village Carnival: Charming Skippack Village hosts their annual carnival this week through Saturday (starting at 5PM Thursday and Friday, 2PM Saturday). With amusements, games, and classic carnival food – the event is a perfect way for the whole family to spend a night this weekend. I personally am a big fan of the “Gold Fish Toss” game, but if carnival games aren’t your thing, restaurants and shopping are close by.

Catfish Derby – Schuylkill Canal (Mont Clare): I’ll be honest; I have never participated in a “Catfish Derby.” However, I do know catching catfish is fun and that derbies in general are always exciting. Unlike most fishing contests, prizes will be awarded to the three longest catfish caught (not heaviest). For more information, please call (610) 917-0021.
